Brockton Fire Event, URI & My March Speaking Schedule
Last Thursday was a fun night at the Brockton Firefighters Union Hall in front of 75 interested people. Nat Whittemore and I had a great time speaking to them. Again, I saw some old friends and made some new ones.
Thanks to Deputy Chief Ed Williams for the invitation to put on our show. These folks bought 40 books!
A very special thank you to past Chief Ken Galligan who spent 41 years on the Department, 16 as Chief. He provided an excellent tour of the Brockton Fire Museum and gave us both a copy of a book on the disastrous 1941 Strand Theater fire that killed 13 Brockton Firefighters. Both Chief Galligan and Deputy Williams are top-notch guys. I highly recommend a visit to & support for the fire museum.
Friday, there was another crowd of over 70 at the URI Forensic Science class. It was lots of fun, but the hour & a half went by too quickly. The 3 photos below are courtesy of James McIntosh. Of course, the photos shown on the screen are those of our famous friend Retired BFD Photographer Bill Noonan. Those church fire flames were so hot that I had to duck!! Stay safe out there.
Sunday 2/23 was another fun day at Wellesley Public Library with Nat Whittemore and some 50+ friends who came to hear the story.
